Marie Batista is a Research Assistant in social and human sciences and a translator specialising in digital and AI policy (French and Portuguese). She is also a Master’s student in European Studies at the University of Coimbra (Portugal). Marie holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Sciences, a Master's degree in Experimental Psychology, and a Master's degree in Translation and Cultural Studies from the University of Poitiers. Fascinated by languages and interculturality, she has also been learning classical Arabic for several years. She is particularly interested in harmonising and facilitating technical translations through the creation of terminology tools, leveraging the potential of new technologies, based on her work as a translator for Research ICT Africa. In particular, she developed RIA’s terminological glossary on digital policy in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic and Swahili, leading the team of translators who contributed to its compilation.
