During July, we engaged extensively with our partners to better capacitate ourselves for transitions to more inclusive digitalisation policies and just data frameworks. The month started off with our Africa Just AI Conference, which brought together more than 30 researchers from over 15 countries. This multidisciplinary cohort offered diverse insights on everything from the potential of local innovation under the right conditions, to new competition frameworks and the inherent bias resulting from the absence of African voices in AI development and policy.
