It is one of the busiest times of the year, with RIA actively engaging in several UN dialogues, lobbying for the inclusion of African perspectives in global digital transformation agendas. With plenty of engagements taking place in the build-up to September’s Summit of the Future, we are critically addressing gaps in global governance.
The overarching objective of these engagements is to achieve a more equitable, inclusive digital world, as laid out in the 2003 Geneva Action Plan. RIA’s driving thesis responds to these ambitions by highlighting majority world perspectives, as outlined in our Executive Director’s chapter in the GIS Watch 2024 Special Edition Report.
