This is our last newsletter of 2023. We thank you so much for your continued support of our work and wish you all the best for the holiday season.
Only a year ago, we were tentatively venturing out unmasked and hesitantly resuming travel for meetings. But 2023 soon got into full swing with RIA remobilising to accelerate digital equality and data justice in Africa.
In March, we were in New York for the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. Our Global South After Access data underpinned the Commission’s background paper, prepared by RIA, which demonstrated the linkages between intersectional digital inequality and the perpetuation of social and historical injustices exacerbated by burgeoning technologies such as machine learning and generative AI.
