RIA’s Digital economy and indicators programme gathers and analyses data to inform African digital policy and regulation. This programme generates evidence-based insights on the performance and structure of digital economies in the region, examining critical indicators such as internet access, affordability, digital skills, and innovation through disaggregated data that is demand-side focused. The ongoing work of the After Access project, this programme’s key output, aims to build a comprehensive knowledge base that helps governments, regulators, and stakeholders adapt to the fast-evolving digital landscape through the prioritisation of meaningful access.
