RIA welcomes Araba Sey who joins us from the United Nations University (UNU) in Macau where she was a Principal Research Fellow who managed the research group of the EQUALS Global Partnership for Gender Digital Equality.
Araba studies the relationship between ICTs and society with a focus on socio-economically marginalized groups. She has led several research projects on the impacts of computers, mobile phones and internet access in a variety of international contexts. Her research seeks to understand the factors that underlie different types of digital inequality and explore ways to foster diversity and inclusion within institutions and society at large. Her most recent work focuses on the intersection of gender and digital technology, especially issues related to gender equality in digital access, digital skills and leadership in the technology industry.
