From June to August 2026, the Research ICT Africa team will be joined by two new interns, Elvis Kwaku Amponsah and Rukayat Abiodun Ademola, who will support in researching and surveying future opportunities and avenues for Research ICT Africa’s School on Digital and Data Futures, which hopes to deliver new data governance courses in the near future, following the success of previous modules.
In addition, the interns will produce two short research briefs on emerging research areas, including the climate data commons and the assessment of unmet development data needs.
Abiodun is a conservation biologist and communications professional with a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology. She serves as PR and Communications Manager at Blossom Girls Outreach Foundation, where she supports program implementation and stakeholder engagement. Her research interests include urban ecology, conservation, digital inclusion, gender equity, and community-driven development across Africa.
Elvis is a development researcher and project coordinator with degrees from Ashesi University (BSc Business Administration) and The University of Edinburgh (MSc International Development). Elvis’ research focuses on youth skills training, gender inclusion, and evidence-based policy for underprivileged communities in Africa. His work has spanned an EU/UNDP-funded biodiversity project, private equity fundraising project, multinational stakeholder management, and business operations and strategy.
