As we enter September, our organisation shifts its focus forward, particularly towards the upcoming UN Summit of the Future (SOTF). Located alongside the annual United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, the Summit is the culmination of UN efforts to reset global cooperation for economic and social reconstruction in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and to revive the Sustainable Development Goals. A central action of the Summit is the Global Digital Compact. With a mandate from the UN Common Agenda, it is intended to provide “shared principles for an open, free and secure digital future for all”.
