Internet plan will hamstring African growth

In the context of the highly controversial WCIT conference starting on Dec 2 in Dubai, Dr Rohan Samarajiva, founding chairman and CEO of LIRNEasia and board member of Research ICT Africa, co-authored a policy brief with Hosuk Lee-Makiyama, director of ECIPE, on “Whither global rules for the Internet?”.

In preparation for the World Conference on International Telecommunication (WCIT, December 2012, Dubai) Dr Samarajiva wrote also a paper on possible scenarios of Internet governance as emerged after the African Telecommunications Union’s third regional meeting (September 2012, Accra, Ghana).
