Tapiwa Chinembiri is a Junior Researcher at RIA with special interests in African mobile pricing and affordability. He focuses on mobile pricing collection and analysis on the RIA African Mobile Pricing (RAMP) portal, quantitative research including analysis and modelling of research for policy purposes. In pursuit of his career as a Researcher, Tapiwa holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town in 2018 and certificates in Panel Data analysis and Complex Social survey data Analysis both from UCT. His research interests also include program evaluation, poverty and inequality, labour economics and household survey data quality. He is a member at the World Youth Forum. Prior to joining RIA, he was a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Cape Town in the Economics of Tobacco Control and Poverty and Inequality Initiative sections where he participated tobacco control on public health in Southern Africa and youth unemployment project in South Africa respectively. Before moving to South Africa, he was an Assistant Databases Statistician at Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT), responsible for production of official statistics facilitating data management from all sections of the organisation in the Databases Section.
