Senka Hadzic (PhD) is a telecommunications engineer and ICT4D researcher with expertise in low cost connectivity solutions for developing countries. She is a Ford Foundation (Media Democracy Fund) Tech Exchange Fellow at RIA, and does research on alternative spectrum policies to enable small scale operators and community networks.
She holds a PhD in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. In 2014-2015 she was a Marie Curie Fellow at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems in Germany, where she was working on wireless backhaul deployments for rural areas and developing countries. Since 2016 she is with the ICT4D research centre at the University of Cape Town.
