Data and Methodology
In October 2017, Research ICT Africa entered into an agreement with SpeedChecker to use its database on recorded internet speed test data to subscribers for academic policy and regulatory research. SpeedChecker database is an incredibly valuable resource for Research ICT Africa and for the entire African continent, as it contains a large number of measurements collected over time across almost all African countries and operators. It is possible to test broadband performance and contribute to SpeedChecker’s database by using the speed test app at the following links:
